VIO Med Spa is putting physical brand experience at the center of its growth strategy. The Nashville-based franchise has unveiled a next-generation store design that trades the clinical look of a traditional medical spa for something closer to a boutique hotel, a move that says as much about franchise marketing in 2026 as it does about interior design.

A National Rollout Built Around Brand Experience

The franchise unveiled its next-generation store concept on July 20. The company is calling it the most significant evolution of its interior brand experience since founding. The hospitality-inspired design aims to enhance the guest experience while introducing a leaner, more cost-efficient development model that will set the new standard for locations nationwide. The first location debuted in Zionsville, Indiana.

Trading The Clinical Look For Hospitality

For marketers, the interesting part is the deliberate shift away from category norms. The new concept moves away from the darker, more clinical aesthetic traditionally associated with medical spas and instead adopts a hospitality-inspired approach with warm neutral tones, natural wood finishes, layered lighting and textured materials, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of boutique hotels and luxury wellness destinations. In a segment where consumers increasingly evaluate aesthetics providers on ambiance and trust as much as on treatment menus, the environment itself becomes a differentiator and a marketing asset that shows up in every social post, review photo and walk-in impression.

The First Impression As Part Of The Funnel

The brand is framing the redesign as an experience investment rather than a cosmetic refresh. “As the VIO brand continues to evolve, our physical spaces should evolve with it,” Ryan Rose, CEO of VIO Med Spa, said in the company’s July 20 announcement. “This new concept reflects the quality of care, clinical expertise and personalized experience that define our brand, creating a more elevated environment that welcomes guests from the moment they arrive.” That framing is telling because it treats the first ninety seconds inside the door as part of the conversion funnel.

Designed For Franchisee Economics

Crucially, the rollout was designed with unit economics in mind, a reminder that brand experience upgrades only scale in franchising if franchisees can afford them. The redesign was developed in close collaboration with the brand’s Franchise Advisory Council to create a more efficient, scalable model, and the updated prototype features a footprint roughly 500 to 1,000 square feet smaller than previous locations. Pairing a more elevated guest experience with a smaller, cheaper box is a shrewd franchise-development pitch: Better storytelling for the customer and lower buildout costs for the operator.

A Collaborative Design Process

The design came out of a partnership approach rather than a top-down mandate. It was developed through collaboration between VIO’s team, the Zionsville franchise owner and interior designer Rachel Hasan, combining luxury hospitality design with the functional needs of a physician-guided medical spa. “Our goal was to create a space where design and care work together,” Rachel Hasan, interior designer, said in the brand’s design announcement.

Built To Scale

The timing tracks with a brand in expansion mode. Founded in 2017, VIO operates 65 locations across 20 states, with more than 175 territories open, sold or actively in development, and is backed by growth partner Freeman Spogli. With that pipeline a standardized, marketing-forward prototype gives the system a consistent brand signature to scale behind.

The Takeaway

The lesson for franchise marketers: As categories mature and competition intensifies, the store is no longer just where the service happens. It is a media channel and increasingly a growth strategy.
